a game inspired by the movie, Pacific Rim.

The movie, Pacific Rim

In mid 2013, Pacific Rim was hot and I went to see it with my friends.

We were interseted in the way people control the big robots in the movie. They couple as a team with each one controling half of the robot with great consistency.

So we decided to build a game in which two people control one robot like that.

Game concept

We use two smartphones as the controller for each side of the robot. With the gravity sensors in the smartphones, the angle of phone inclination will be transformed into the robot data. If both smartphones incline in similar way, the robot will move faster. Otherwise the robot will move very slowly.

There're two buttons on each phone's screen: The common fire button on the right controls one side of the primary weapon; two players must press the left button at the same time to activate the ultimate weapons.

Then we built it in two days.
